You can paddle the whole way around the Lough. If you hug the shore it's about 10 miles. Plenty of wild life and nice views of the golf course and surrounding fields.
Additional Info
There are lay-bys near the entrance to Castleblayney Outdoor Adventure Centre you can park in. There's a small beach just in front of their gates to launch from. Speed boats and jet skis can cause wakes on the southern part of the Lough.
